Employment+
Programme description
The Employment + programme supports fair, green and digital transitions by upskilling and reskilling people already in employment, as well as those who are currently not working. The programme focuses on improving the gender balance so as to develop an inclusive and resilient labour market. It supports better living conditions for people at risk of poverty, integration of Roma and third-country nationals, expanded availability of social services and improved access to health services across the country.
Promoting employment
The programme creates employment opportunities for jobseekers who have difficulties finding or keeping a job – including older people, people with disabilities, or individuals with low skills. The new Aim, Learn, Master, Achieve (ALMA) initiative will help disadvantaged young people to integrate into the labour market with short work placements abroad and individual coaching.
Support for children is a strategic priority. Childcare availability for children under three years of age will be increased, enabling their parents to participate in the labour market, and further promoting work-life balance. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are also supported to adapt to ongoing challenges and increase their competitiveness.
Social inclusion
Special attention will be given to promoting social inclusion measures, supporting a variety of social services, stepping up coordination between health and social care and these services’ accessibility for persons in need. This funding will support social enterprises and help people in difficult situations – such as those at risk of becoming homeless. The transformation of institutional facilities into outpatient and community-based services will help persons with disabilities to live more independently in their preferred environment.
Social innovative actions
The programme will support measures promoting social innovation. Activities will focus on the development of innovative approaches to advance gender equality, employment and social inclusion, such as the enhancement of measures aimed at raising awareness of change, projects promoting skills building and using public assets in novel innovative ways.
Support to the most deprived
The programme will support projects offering food and material assistance, as well as measures for social and labour market inclusion. It will also expand school lunch programmes for children at risk of social exclusion.
Expected benefits
Thanks to the projects financed by the Employment + programme,
- Over 5 000 children will have access to early childhood education and care
- More than 600 SMEs will be supported in their adaptation to the dynamic economic environment
- Up to 5 000 Roma will benefit from socioeconomic integration.
